Cindy Carvalho
BS Exercise Science and Lifestyle Management from UH at Manoa. CPT, CMES, CHC, TRX certified, Exercise is Medicine Level II Certification, Weight Management Specialist, and Silver Sneakers Certified.
Born and raised in Kailua, Cindy Carvalho has over 25 years’ experience teaching and lead group fitness and one-on-one training on Oahu. Cindy has a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science & Lifestyle Management from UH @ Manoa. She has experience working with diverse populations from athletes to special populations including Parkinson’s, pulmonary disease, bariatrics, and older adults.
Cindy has a passion for biomechanics and learning and is currently working on her Corrective Exercise Specialist certification. Cindy loves to move and spends her personal time on home repair projects, learning Jujitsu, boxing conditioning, weight training, dancing Tahitian, line dancing, stand-up paddle boarding, hiking and hanging out with her dog. She is a level 2 Reiki practitioner and was led to Reiki two years ago when her dog needed healing. Her personal and profession experience with energy and movement provides her with the skills to lead effective, safe, and energizing workouts. As a Certified Medical Exercise Specialist, Certified Health Coach, Certified Personal Trainer and 27 years of experience leading group fitness, Cindy has the skills and knowledge for all fitness levels of all ages.
Cindy understands that in addition to movement a body also needs adequate recovery and rest. Cindy has been guiding individuals to improve body alignment and mechanics with self-myofascial rolling technique using the tune-up fitness balls for over 5 years. SMFR improves circulation to promote healing and alleviate pain by calming overactive muscles and freeing up nerves entrapped in fascia. She has a steady following of people who recognize the improvements in their mobility and reduction of tension after just one session.
Cindy enjoys helping people to move and feel better while having fun. She provides clear exercise instruction and motivates everyone to do their personal best. Her passion for movement, her experience, and her positive attitude allows everyone to reach their goals.
