Nicole Nakamura

Nicole grew up doing gymnastics and dance and started practicing yoga in her early 20’s. She is a psychologist and has a private practice in Honolulu, Hawai’i where she works with adults, many of whom have experienced trauma in their lives. Nicole enjoys offering yoga rooted in the principle of ahimsa (non-violence).

She completed her 200-hour yoga certification in 2017 through Power Yoga Hawaii and her 300-hour Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) Facilitator certification in 2019 through the Center for Trauma and Embodiment at the Justice Resource Institute.

She aims to approach yoga and psychology in a way that is inclusive, facilitates connection and belonging, and values compassion and choice. Nicole enjoys taking strolls around her neighborhood, picking up random hobbies, and exploring various types of movement.
